Abstract

The purpose of this document is to help in preparation for IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V8.5.5 and Liberty Profile System Administration Exam (Test C2180-401).

This document should not be used as the only study material for IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V8.5.5 and Liberty Profile System Administration Exam. It might cover not all objective topics, and it might be not enough. I tried to make this document as much accurate as possible, but if you find any error, please let me know.

I. Exam Objectives
1. Architecture
1.1. Identify the components and services in a WebSphere Application Server and describe how they are related or interact.
1.2. Design various WebSphere Application Server topologies, for example, flexible management, intelligent management, mixed platform topology, network deployment cells, Liberty collectives, and ODR.
1.3. Analyze appropriate design considerations when architecting topologies to achieve security, scalability, performance and fault tolerance.
1.4. Demonstrate an understanding of how requests traverse various WebSphere Application Server topologies.
1.5. Demonstrate an understanding of the administration activities for a network deployment cell including the flexible management components.
1.6. Identify and describe the components of the WebSphere Application Server Liberty profile.
2. Product Installation, Configuration and Maintenance
2.1. Demonstrate an understanding of the IBM Installation Manager and IBM Packaging Utility and its role in installing, configuring, and maintaining WebSphere application servers and components both locally and remotely.
2.2. Perform a silent installation process for WebSphere Application Server and fix pack installations.
2.3. Perform pre and post installation verification.
2.4. Troubleshoot installation problems.
2.5. Create and manage Full and Liberty profiles.
2.6. Manage nodes in a WebSphere topology, for example, managed, unmanaged nodes, flexible management and network deployment cell.
2.7. Backup and restore configuration including the use of checkpoints.
3. Application Management (Assembly, Deployment and Configuration)
3.1. Explain the structure of enterprise applications, web applications, and business level applications.
3.2. Deploy applications to a WebSphere Application Server environment.
3.3. Configure resources, for example, data sources, JNDI, class paths, J2C providers, as required by an application.
3.4. Use the IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software or the IBM WebSphere Application Server Developer Tools for Eclipse to examine and manipulate applications.
3.5. Demonstrate an understanding of the administrative tasks required to take an application deployed to the Liberty profile and deploy it in a WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment environment.

4.1. Illustrate the usage of the Integrated Solutions Console (ISC) and its various tools (e.g., command assistance, runtime messages).
4.2. Use the standard set of command line administrative tools such as wsadmin, profile management and plug-in generation.
4.3. Use the capabilities of the Job Manager tooling including the submission of Liberty profile jobs.
4.4. Use scripting to perform administrative tasks, for example, scripting libraries, ws_ant, wsadmin
