Intelligent runtime provisioning
Intelligent runtime provisioning is a new concept introduced with WebSphere Application Server V7.0. This mechanism selects only the runtime functions needed for an application. Each application is examined by WebSphere Application Server during the deployment to generate an activation plan. At run time, the server uses the activation plan to start only those components that are required inside the application server.
Intelligent runtime provisioning is a feature that reduces memory footprint, application server startup time, and used CPU resources needed to start the application server.
